Kera Thompson 2012-13 Jr League President
  October 4, 2012 Edition
The Junior League of Youngstown elected Kera A. Thompson as president for the 2012-2013 League year. Thompson is proud to announce that the League will focus its efforts on school readiness with a concentration on nutrition and childhood obesity.
“The Junior League of Youngstown has worked for years to educate children regarding nutrition through our Kids in the Kitchen program,” says Thompson. “We are now looking at ways to expand our efforts to help children prepare for school by eating the proper foods and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Childhood obesity has tripled in the last 30 years according to the Centers for Disease Control and there are many programs nationwide tackling this issue. The Junior League of Youngstown is committed to joining these efforts.”
