The Boardman High School Lady Spartans track and field team defeated Canfield, Chaney and East on Senior Night. Boardman totaled 145 points for the top spot, followed by Canfield, 52; Chaney, 32; and East, 16.
      The meet was highlighted by Lady Spartan senior Sarah Bero whose heave in the shot put of 45 ft.,3 inches broke a 27-year-old school record of 41-11 set in 1988 by Adriane Blewitt.
      The Lady Spartans won 11 events in the quad meet.
      Boardman’s 4×800 relay of Gabby Vennetti, Moriah Doyle, Ava Acevedo and Gianna Berardino too the top spot, and Gina DiNapoli was a double winner, claiming first in the 100 and 300 hurdle events.
      Vennetti was the winner in the 1600. Olivia Brady was the 400 winner. Jaelyn Cicchillo was the 800 winner and Lauryn Swantek was the 1600 winner for the lady Spartans.
      Boardman’s 4×400 relay of Jasmine Matthews, Janessa Prisby, Ava Acevedo and Brady placed first., while Bero also won the discus event.
      Lady Spartan Liza Letunova was the pole vault winner.

      Scoring second place points were Gigi Angiuli in the 100 hurdles, the 100 and the long jump; the 4×200 relay of Gina DiNapoli, Janessa Prisby, Abbi Mihok and Jasmine Matthews; the 4×100 relay of Jasmine Matthews, Gigi Angiuli, Xy’Asia Gilford and Janessa Prisby; Mia Duble in the 400; Sam Lenhart in pole vault; Lily Warren in shot put and discus and Gina Mariani in the high jump.
      Scoring third place points were Calli Walker in the 800, Kennedi Smith in the pole vault; Lili Ison in the shot put, Julia Forbes in the discus; Zohna McMillen in the long jump and Layla Jones and Jasmine Matthews tied for third in the high jump.
      Scoring fourth place points were Layla Jones in the 100 hurdles; Mia Duble in the 100; Gabby Vennetti in the 300 hurdles; Bryanna James in the 200; Kaylee Bushling in the pole vault; Julia Forbes in the shot put and Xy’Asia Gilford in the long jump.
      Scoring fifth place points were Bryanna James in the 100; Calli Walker in the 1600; Kennedi Smith in the 300 hurdles; Mia Duble in the 200 and Gwen McLane in the shot put and discus.
