A clogged, 36-inch storm water pipe that crosses from Canfield into Boardman under Tippecanoe Rd. caused heavy surface water runoff in the Huntington Woods neighborhood during a brief, but strong rain storm last Friday.
The pipe is maintained by Mahoning County Engineers who by Monday had cleaned-out the debris that was clogging the pipe and forcing water to run over Tippecanoe Rd. and into the Huntington Woods neighborhood.
Other areas were there was reported heavy surface water flows included the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, along Boardman Blvd. and on Glenwood Ave., just south of Boardman High School, where water in the roadway reached up to one foot or more.
Within an hour the rain stopped and water receded from areas heavily impacted by the downfall. |
