Joy Mistovich, of Presidential Dr., Boardman, has been appointed to the Ohio Museums Association Board of Trustees that represents 1300 museums statewide. She joins the ranks of a diverse and talented group of other museum professionals in Ohio.
Mistovich is employed at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown.
Dr. Louis Zona, Butler executive director, noted “I was so pleased to learn of Joy’s special recognition. She is intelligent and highly competent. She is a dedicated and hardworking employee. I couldn’t be prouder of Joy Mistovich for all of her accomplishments.”
Joy has also selected for the National Art Education Association (NAEA) School for Art Leaders’ program of which there are only 25 individuals nationwide. Her appointment will run from June to March, 2026.
The Art Leaders Program provides visual arts leaders from museums, colleges/universities, and state visual arts organizations with the opportunity to build upon their leadership skills which will benefit visual arts professionals in all stages of their careers.
Joy serves as the Assistant Education Director and Digital UX Accessibility Specialist at The Butler. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s in English and Spanish and a Master’s in English.
Last August, she received her second Master’s in Art Education/Museum Education from The Ohio State University.
Aside from her recent appointments, she also serves on other boards including Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries, OCCHA, and Art Possible Ohio. Joy is the daughter of Joyce and the late Ron Mistovich. |
