The Second Harvest Food Bank, 2805 Salt Springs Rd., Youngstown, Oh. has recognized major contributors for April through June and topping the list is a Boardman car dealership and a letter carriers union.
Boardman Subaru’s Share the Love event raised some $23,042 for the food bank while the National Association of Letter Carriers contributed 3,532 pounds of food.
“Every year during the Subaru Share the Love event, from November through the end of the year, everybody who buys or leases a car gets to choose between six charities that we’ve partnered up with,” Rob Fellman, head of Boardman Subaru said.
“When you buy or lease a car, $325 goes to your choice of one of the six charities,” he added.
“Since this fine organization (Boardman Subaru) has been doing this program and helping to raise money for the people in need, 500,000 meals have been produced. We were able to provide 500,000 meals with the money that’s been donated by Rob Fellman and Boardman Subaru. That’s significant,” said Second Harvest Food Bank Executive Director Mike Iberis. |
