Nearly 170 classmates and guests from the Boardman High School Class of 1975 gathered at the Waypoint in Canfield to celebrate their 50-year reunion in mid-August. The ballroom was filled with maroon and white balloons, elegant centerpieces and festive decor, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere to the event.
      Attendees traveled from across the country, and even overseas, including guests from Limerick, Ireland, as well as Washington state, California, Florida and Colorado.
      Planning the event were Debbie (Basinsky) Liptak, chairperson; and the reunion committee of Sue (Streff) Brewster, Fred Davis, Kady (Karen Davis) Douglas, Denise (Gorant) Gliwa, Teri (Theresa) Gatnitto, Val (Gruder) Haller, Diane Laskovics-Nichols, Patrick O’Donnell and Linda Martin Saunders.
      Adding to the special eveing, Waypoint owners Laurie Van Nest Whitman (BHS Class of 1975) and Chuck Whitman (BNHS CLass of 1972) donated a dinner featuring gourmet antipasto appetizer and a selection of entrees ranging from seared beef to fresh fish and pasta.
      Reunion festivities spanned the entire weekend and included a gof outing at the Mill Creek Park golf course, a fundraising walk through Boardman High School to benefit the Boardman Schools’ Fund of Educational Excellence, a tour of the high school, and a memorial service that was held at Olde St. James Meeting House in Boardman Park.
      The spirit of the weekend was summed-up by classmate Theresa (Ivan) Kishel who shared on Facebook, “I just came home for one of the best class reunions we ever had. I enjoyed seeing everyone there. Thanks to all those classmates who worked so hard putting it together.”
